The chalet is an ideal base for a number of walks in the immediate vicinity including sections of the south-west coastal path and the unspoilt area of the Dart estuary. Yet it is within easy reach of Brixham Paignton and Torquay. The ferry to the picturesque village of Dittisham runs from Greenway Quay where there are also boats to explore the River Dart. The Paignton to Dartmouth Railway runs from Churston Station at the top of Greenway Road. From Dartmouth there are regular boat trips up the Dart to Totnes.

Paignton Zoo where the animals live in natural surroundings is an excellent day out Quay West Water Park, Berry Head Country Park and Cockington are all within easy reach. Dartmoor National Park is only a short drive away. A variety of boat trips are available from Brixham and Torquay.

Greenway, the former home of Agatha Christy is within walking distance at the end of Greenway Road and the other local national Trust Property, Colton Fishacre only a short drive away.
