The chalet is an ideal base for the many walks in the immediate vicinity, including sections of the south-west coastal path and the unspoilt area surrounding the Dart estuary, yet it is within easy reach of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay. The ferry to the picturesque village of Dittisham runs from Greenway Quay where there are also boats for hire to explore the River Dart.  The Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Railway runs from Churston  Station  at  the  top of Greenway Road.

 

Paignton Zoo, where animals live in natural surroundings, Quay West water park, Berry Head Country Park, and the historic town of Dartmouth, are all within easy reach.  Dartmoor National Park is a short drive away.  There are a variety of boat trips available by sea, and river from Brixham to Paignton, Torquay,  Dartmouth and Totnes. There are also daily fishing trips from Brixham Harbour.

 

National Trust properties at Colton Fishacre and Greenway are nearby and well worth a visit. Greenway, former home of Agatha Christie, can be reached on foot (the walk is about a mile and a half each way) or by car however parking has to be booked in advance {tel: 01803 842382 or greenway@nationaltrust.org.uk)
